Our devices are designed to be compatible with all major phone brands. SprkCharger Magnetic Connectors work with phones that have Lightning (Apple), Micro-USB, or USB-C (Android, Google, Samsung, etc.) connectors.
The direct magnetic connections provide quick-connect convenience and allow the device being charged to continue to be fully used in a tethered mode while being charged. It integrates with the SprkCharger Stand to allow one hand charge mounting and multi angle viewing for streaming and general use while charging.
SprkCharger products are compatible with standard safety-approved USB output wall chargers with USB-A connectors and 5V output.
The increase in charge percentage and time to charge a phone depends on the size of the phone’s battery. Typical charge increase range is 5%-8% of charge every ten minutes. A full discharge of the Slim Battery to the phone typically takes 60-80 minutes. The total actual mAh charge provided by Slim Battery is a constant, but a phone with a larger cell will increase to a lower percentage of its total capacity (5000 mAh Phone ~35%) than a smaller cell (2815 mAh Phone ~ 60%).
The SprkCharger Slim Battery stainless-steel case may get warm to the touch during charging and discharging. This is an intentional design feature to help manage device heat. The SprkCharger Slim Battery has been engineered to intentionally conduct heat from the charging process out to the stainless-steel case, which acts as a heatsink to increase the life of the cell and the electronics. The design has been safety tested by an independent third-party lab to meet UL1642 and UL2056 standards.
Stop using the battery if the case gets too hot to handle or if it does not cool down for an extended period of time after the charging/discharging is completed.
Increased use time depends on your phone battery size and how you use your device. For a cell phone with a 2800 mAh battery, a full SprkCharger Battery Wallet or Slim Battery charge will support ~ +60% of added "full use" time. If your typical phone discharge is 9 hours of use for calls, email, web use and streaming, the SprkCharger Battery Wallet or Slim Battery will provide (.6 x 9hrs) = 5.4 Hrs. of additional full-function use. If your typical full charge, based on your use pattern, lasts 12 hours, SprkCharger Battery Wallet or Slim Battery will provide (.6 x12) = 7.2hrs. of additional use.
A fully discharged SprkCharger Battery Wallet or Slim Battery will recharge in approximately 2.5 hours. We recommend using the SprkCharger Cable with Micro USB connector and a qualified 5V USB charger. You can also use a standard Micro USB cable with qualified 5V USB charger.
The magnets used in SprkCharger products are N52 Neodymium rare earth magnets. N52 grade are considered the strongest and most expensive magnets available for this application. They were chosen to ensure strong, high-quality electrical and mechanical connections on SprkCharger products.
The connector-to-cable link provides a strong connection while allowing more than 180 degree rotation. The connection is strong enough to hold the weight of a typical phone, yet will magnetically disconnect/break away if the cord is unintentionally pulled, preventing damage to the phone. A high-quality gold spring connector completes the circuit in the center of the magnetic connectors.
The case for the SprkCharger Slim Battery, the panels of the SprkCharger Wrap and the SprkCharger Battery Wallet are all made of high-grade 304 stainless steel. This high-grade metal was chosen for durability, strength, heat conduction and Radio Frequency protection.

Unfortunately, you cannot turn off the blue light on the SprkCharger Magnetic Cable while it is charging. The blue light was designed as a quality feature to confirm that the charger is providing power.
You can purchase an adapters for the SprkCharger cable with the USB-A end. These adapters are available to purchase on Amazon and from other websites and retail outlets. Use “USB C Male to USB 3.0 Adapter” for a search term.
In the future we are looking to produce a cord with a USB-C instead of a USB-A end.

We highly recommend that customers purchase additional connectors to allow the magnetic USB connector to be left in the device. This prevents dirt from getting into the connectors and reduces connector wear on your device.

The SprkCharger Cable uses a direct magnetic connection which is much more efficient than wireless Qi charging and provides a faster charge with the same power source. A reference test with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone MagSafe case, MagSafe connector, and the new iPhone 20W wall connector showed that SprkCharger cable was 22% faster charging from 20-80% charge levels on the iPhone 12. Why are SprkCharger Magnetic Cables faster?
Wireless charging applies power to a charging coil on the charger to create an electrical field that “broadcasts” to a similar coil on the Qi-compatible phone being charged. If the phone is positioned so as to exactly align the two coils, the phone coil will receive the signal and convert this transmission into power to charge the phone battery. This magnetic wireless charging is finicky and is much less efficient, with significant power loss compared to a direct cable power transmission process. This results in slower charging with more negative heat generation in your phone than with a direct wired connection, even with high-quality wireless chargers.

A great deal of effort was invested in designing a proprietary magnetic connector storage system to enhance convenience for unplanned, non-daily uses. The system allows three connectors to be magnetically held in a recess with a high-quality clear polycarbonate cover to keep them clean, visible, and held securely in any position to avoid dropping them. To connect to the cable, you simply hold the magnet close to the connector and it will magnetically attach itself to the cable.

We designed this product to be carried in your front pocket. Our design choice was based on recommendations from healthcare providers that carrying a wallet in your front pocket minimizes risk for back injuries due to sitting on a wallet.
The SprkCharger Battery Wallet is designed for six credit cards. Market research and extended personal use testing determined that this is typically more than enough space, once a good housekeeping process is completed. Your picture ID and 2-3 other cards are typically all that are used on a daily basis.
Wallet Housekeeping “Critical 5” Definition
1) “Junk” – Throw out true junk. Store historical items in your old wallet or drawer.
2) Information Card - Pictures in a folder – Use your phone to take pictures of seldom used, but important to access, information-only cards. On your phone, you can create a “picture album” and
move these pictures of these documents to that album for quick access. They can
then be easily shared via text or email as needed. Store the actual card in a safe place. (E.g.,- insurance card, vaccination card, etc.)
3) Keyed electronic code vs card – Many preferred customer programs and some credit cards will allow you to simply key in your phone number/security number during a point-of-sale (POS) transaction to gain your discount or points vs. carrying a service card to scan. Create a contact in your phone’s contact list to record the code for reference if needed. (E.g., for food or gas discount programs at retailers.)
4) Keyed Code + ID Card – Some store credit cards allow you to key in your security number (SSN) at POS and show a picture ID to enable a transaction without a physical credit card. You still get the store card process discount. (Eg., BestBuy.)
5) Direct Phone Pay – Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other direct electronic payment services allow you to use your phone as the
transaction control mechanism.
The SprkCharger Battery Wallet is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Safe. The Battery Wallet is designed with high quality stainless steel that encloses the credit card chip in a Faraday cage to block RF radio waves from contacting the chip, thus prevents a scan from being completed.
Why is this important? Contactless or “tap to pay” credit cards, which can be identified by a radio wave symbol near the silver chip area, have passive RFID computer chips built into them. When the card (chip) is held over the RFID reader of a POS transaction reader, radio waves from the POS reader activate the chip in the card so that your card can be read by the scanner. In theory, a cyber thief could use a portable scanner to read your card chip and information by coming near your card while it is in your pocket or a wallet. High power scanners are able to read RFID chips from a distance of 3-4 feet.
We do not have a specific weight limit. The SprkCharger Battery Wallet and Slim Battery were designed with premium materials to ensure that the products are rugged and safe. Our battery was independently tested to UL1642 for a robust safety review. The Slim Battery case was independently tested to UL 2056 and UN38.3 for shipping safety, crush and drop testing.
Cell phone power charging connectors (USB-C, Lightning, Micro USB) all include data lines along with the power wires. Plugging a standard USB-A charging cable into an unknown power source, such as a public charging port, can expose your phone’s data lines to a process called “juice jacking,” where the data lines are hacked to download malicious code onto your phone or to steal data during the charging cycle. The SprkCharger Slim Battery and Battery Wallet are designed to allow a single wall power charger with a cable to be attached to the Slim Battery micro-USB connector in order to simultaneously charge the battery and the phone/device attached to the cable. The Slim Battery has a special electronic ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) design that allows pass-through current to charge the phone and also pass current to recharge the Slim Battery. This capability is very useful for overnight recharging of both devices with one charging cable.
CHARGING - The Charge Stand was designed to integrate with the SprkCharger cable to magnetically connect to the stand. This provides one hand loading of a vertical phone with a connector loaded. The cable can also be rotated and connected so that the phone can be loaded horizontally while charging.
STREAMING - The high-quality hinges allow you to adjust the viewing angle for great streaming, Zoom or FaceTime calls, and general speaker phone use while charging. The stand is designed to fold flat and comes with a travel case to make it convenient for travel use.
